Dee, as she preferred to be called, was born in Brainerd, Minnesota, on February 8, 1937, to Uno William Hill and (Karlson) Hill. She graduated from high school in Brainerd and attended the University of Minnesota for awhile. Dee's lifelong consolation was her faith. She joined the Lutheran church as a teenager, converting to Catholicism as a young adult. At the age of nineteen, Dee was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes, requiring 2-3 shots of insulin a day for the rest of her life. Diabetes, along with its attendant difficulties caused her extreme hardship. Dee started her career as a bank teller, then worked in an insurance office. When her first husband, Richard James McClure, died tragically in an automobile accident in 1965, she moved with her mother Ruth and her infant daughter, Robyn, to California. Here she worked as an in-charge bookkeeper for a Real Estate firm for over 40 years. She purchased a humble dwelling which has been enlarged over the years and has become the family home. In 1972, at a Christmas party held by the St. Dominic Savio Singles Group, Dee met Bob (Robert Francis) Siemann. In June of 1973 they were married. Dee and Bob enjoyed traveling and visited many parts of the United States and Europe. Dee also had a lifelong love of sewing. She made most of her own and Robyn's clothes, and later embroidered many fine linens for St. Dominic Savio Church. Some of them are still in use. Dee's final trial was Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which manifested itself progressively throughout her extremities as severe swelling. She endured much pain during this time. Dee died at home in Downey on April 12, 2012. Surviving Dee are her beloved husband Bob, her daughter Robyn (Siemann) Dolan, her grandchildren Matt and Jill (Strickland) Dolan, Kirren Dolan, John Dolan, and Jacob Vigil; great-grandson Jonah Dolan; sister Marlene (Hill) Sargent, nephew Stephen Sargent, and beloved niece Konni (Sargent) Yingst.
